Pulsant named as one of ‘100 edge computing companies to watch in 2023’ by STL Partners

Leading research and consulting firm for the telecoms industry, STL Partners, has named Pulsant as one of 100 edge computing companies to watch in 2023.

Our inclusion follows a 2022 packed with significant milestones and reaffirms Pulsant as one of the UK’s leading-edge infrastructure companies. STL Partners assessed businesses based on their financial milestones associated with edge computing, in addition to the practicalities of edge applications they are enabling.

Rob Coupland, CEO at Pulsant, commented Our place on the list is a testament to our position as the edge infrastructure platform of choice for UK businesses. We have invested in the network, our data centres, and the hybrid cloud to give enterprises orchestration all the way to the edge. This enables them to focus on growth knowing there is a high-speed, low-latency edge platform underpinning their strategies. In 2023, the demand for edge infrastructure will continue to rise as the benefits shift the way businesses operate, and we’re excited to meet the demand.”

Among the highlights from the year, we acquired Reading-based data centre and cloud services provider Amito in February. We took the next step in our geographic expansion plans and ambition to bring edge computing to every UK region by taking over the company’s 15,000 square foot and 800 rack data centre.

August was the month that we achieved Prestige Partner status from global Network-as-a-Service provider Megaport. Through our Megaport partnership, our clients can connect to more than 360 cloud service providers through a single access point, including AWS, Google Cloud and Microsoft Azure.

September saw the launch of Pulsant Cloud, part of a major investment programme in our edge infrastructure. A true hybrid cloud service, it delivers edge capabilities and highly advanced management tools for organisations with applications in complex environments. This was closely followed by our introduction of PulsantFlex, a solution designed to provide enterprises with the flexibility needed to prepare for edge computing advances and the growth of SaaS.

To close a hugely positive year, we won Edge Data Center Project of the Year at the DCD Awards in London, which recognises projects that demonstrate a unique approach to successful edge deployments.
