The benefits of Pulsant colocation

Moving your equipment into our datacentres – we address the costly supporting infrastructure: building environment, power, cooling, connectivity, and physical security, whilst you can benefit from a range of datacentre services to enhance your business.

  • We’ll take care of your systems and data so you can take care of your business

We appreciate that maintaining high levels of uptime is essential: in business-critical or customer-facing IT systems any downtime will result in loss of business and reputation. That’s why we have multiple levels of equipment redundancy to maintain a functioning datacentre environment even in the face of major disruptions to IT operations such as power outages.

Every Pulsant datacentre is designed from the ground up to be secure and reliable.

    • Multiple UPS banks
    • Diverse N+1 power supply
    • Equipment redundancy
    • On-site diesel generators
    • Multiple redundant cooling systems
    • Multiple diverse network connections
  • A local facility for maximum convenience

We recognise that you want your own engineers to have access to your servers, so we have datacentres across the UK, allowing you to choose a location that is convenient for you. Your equipment will always be available to your engineers, subject to the access protocols of our datacentre security.

Our expert datacentre engineers are available and can perform many routine or emergency tasks for you. We call this “remote hands”, where our engineers act on your behalf.

    • Ten facilities located across the UK
    • Ideally located to major road & rail links
    • 24-hour access
    • Full range of supplementary services
  • Looking after your systems and data is our prime concern

Our datacentres offer a high level of physical security for your systems. With multiple levels of access control, internal and external CCTV, on-site staff, perimeter fencing, escorted visitors, you can be sure that your servers are well protected. Pulsant’s ISO 27001 accreditation for IT security covers all of our datacentre facilities.

Where you have heightened security needs, we can provide secure cages to isolate your racks or even dedicated private rooms with their own secure access controls.

    • Secure access controls
    • Internal and external CCTV
    • ISO 270001 accreditation for IT security
    • Cages and private suites

  • Colocation FAQs

Will my servers be safe outside of my premises?

Your servers will be safe in one of our datacentres. We take the safety of our customers’ infrastructure seriously. We have the highest levels of physical security in our enterprise datacentres, with access control, and 24/7 manned and monitored security.

What accreditations do Pulsant datacentres have?

In addition to holding a Royal Warrant as a provider of hosted IT and datacentre services to the Royal Household, all of our datacentres are ISO 27001 (Information Security Management), ISO 9001 (Quality Management) and ISO 14001 (Environmental Management) accredited. All sites also conform to the European Data Centre Code of Code. Eight datacentres are also PCI-DSS accredited.

    What technical support is available?

Our datacentres are staffed 24/7/365 to ensure there is always someone on hand to assist you, whether you need to visit the site yourself for maintenance or request help from our engineers for an additional remote hands service.

What provisions do you have in place for power outages?

While each datacentre has different power configurations, there is built-in resilience with diverse power supplies, on-site substations, transformers, UPS and generator power. Regardless of datacentre, this ensures a constant power supply and little risk of unplanned downtime due to outages.

What facilities are available for my engineers?

There is ample parking at our datacentre sites, as well as essential facilities such as kitchens and restrooms. Depending on location we also offer dedicated office suites, meeting rooms and build facilities to meet your needs.
