ScoLocate are delighted to announce that it has gained certification to the ISO 27001:2005 Information Security Management Systems (ISMS) standard. This was achieved following a comprehensive three day audit process by auditors from SGS Limited, who are UKAS accredited auditors. Using a UKAS accredited auditor gives our ISO27001 certification additional credibility, as UKAS is the sole national accreditation body recognised by UK Government to assess auditing companies against internationally agreed standards.
ISO27001 is internationally recognised as the best practice specification that helps businesses and organisations throughout the world to develop a best-in-class Information Security Management System (ISMS). The standard has 133 controls covering all aspects of information security within IT systems, physical facilities and personnel. Our decision to set the scope of the audit to cover 124 controls (93% of total in standard) makes meeting the standard more onerous in that all aspects of security within our datacentre operations are covered, from people, plant to process.
Achieving ISO27001 to this high level of coverage gives us the reassurance that our operations and approach to security is aligned to a recognised, international standard. In doing so, it gives our customers confidence that their data is safe within the datacentre.
