As a business in the IT sector, there are many great causes that can be supported either locally or nationally, but we recognise giving a little can really help a lot. So in 2012, Pulsant have decided to support Byte Night. An event organised in support of Action for Children as an annual sleep out for the IT industry.
Action for Children tackles the root causes of homelessness, working with young people at risk of homelessness across the UK, so sleeping out not only helps to raise funds to support these individuals, but it also provides a little taste of what homelessness really means.
The event is this year taking place in five locations across the UK and will see over 900 sleepers from the IT industry, making this the biggest event ever. Since starting out in 1998 Byte Night has raised £4.3million to help prevent youth homelessness. This year they are aiming to hit the £5million mark.
Pulsant are supporting the event in two ways, firstly the staff at Pulsant will be taking part in the Thames Valley and Edinburgh sleep outs on Friday 5th October 2012. We are also sponsoring the survival bags for the sleepers helping to make sure everyone stays dry.
If you think Byte Night is something you would like to get involved with, the Pulsant sleepers would be delighted if you could support them by donating to their team target, just get in touch and we’ll let you know how. Alternatively if you think you would like to join the event, take a look on the event website: www.bytenight.org.uk
