Our state of the art Tier 3 data centre
based just outside the city centre
The Newbridge, Edinburgh facility was purpose built in 2004 and further updated in 2007. This impressive Tier 3 facility provides a high quality, secure location with 24hour on-site support services and is only 20 minutes from central Edinburgh.
The site at Newbridge was designed with individual data halls, this modular approach allowed each data hall to be brought online in phases. All 7 data halls are currently online and operational.
Each data centre within Pulsant’s portfolio is designed to the highest and most advanced specification. We deliver efficiency, resiliency, continuity and ultra-fast connectivity that is second to none.

To eliminate risk from outage, the site was designed for redundancy with a 1.5mVA transformer connected to an 11kV utility supply, with dual plant rooms, switchboards and UPS systems.
Energy is vital to power and cool servers; we reduce energy consumption and costs by using ultra-efficient systems and advanced cold aisle and pod technology. Cooling is provided by Denco Escana DFUs configured to N+1 standard per data hall (7 data halls in total)
Ensuring our infrastructure and customer equipment operate safely is one of our greatest concerns. The facility is equipped with VESDA fire detection which continuously samples the air for smoke particles. In the event of an alert we have installed an Argonite gas suppression system.
Pulsant does everything possible to prevent unauthorised access to the buildings as well as to the rack housings themselves. We also have CCTV cameras and systems in place to identify and react to threats so that your infrastructure is protected from theft, damage or interference.
Pulsant have built a number of client facilities to ensure any time you spend on site is comfortable. There is ample provision for client IT staff who may be required onsite, this includes parking, rest rooms, kitchen, build facilities, dedicated offices and meeting rooms.
When creating the data campus we needed to ensure we had ultra-fast connectivity with low latency to London locations. We achieved this as the site houses diverse network connectivity via dark fibre to multiple London points of presence with 2ms of network latency.
