C4L has a large footprint within Pulsant’s Maidenhead datacentre facility, providing colocation, connectivity and support services to the company. With services initially hosted out of Maidenhead, C4L soon expanded to the Pulsant’s Tier 3 Milton Keynes site.

“We selected Pulsant based on a number of criteria”, said Simon Mewett, CEO, C4L. “We understand how Pulsant operates as a company as they have similar values to our own, in terms of staff culture, ambition for rapid growth and to customer retention. However, the biggest deciding factor was flexibility”.

“C4L has a large footprint with Pulsant and we needed to know that the company could offer us the versatility to scale and grow as we need to. They provide us with a level of flexibility which not many other vcentres offer, enabling us to deliver bespoke, commercially viable solutions to our customers. They recognise our requirements in real time and act accordingly. This has specific advantages for us in that we are able to offer our customers everything from full remote hands services, to working on
the application level software”.

Integrate and activate

Pulsant provides C4L with the ability to deliver multiple solutions across varied requirements for many IT clients offering managed services. Across the Maidenhead facility alone C4L has in excess of 100 customers using rack space, whereas the Milton Keynes facility hosts a number of clients in the UK financial services sector due to its Tier 3 status.

The Pulsant team works closely with C4L in reviewing and adapting proposed solutions for the company’s colocation customers ensuring requirements are met and the product itself will bring optimal benefit to the end user.

The team at Pulsant also acts as an agent on behalf of C4L on occasions, providing site tours and demonstrating C4L’s expertise in various areas for customers and prospects.

“From a service point of view, Pulsant is excellent”, continued Mewett. “Any issues are dealt with quickly, and the quality of the support is outstanding, especially the remote hands support, which is tailored to give us variable access levels depending on the nature of the requirement. This is particularly helpful in assisting us maintain our high customer standard which are core to our business philosophy”.

Support and evolve

“The infrastructure of both sites is expertly maintained and upkeep of the premises is done to a very high level. Pulsant’s communication with us is also excellent, timeously alerting us to any planned maintenance so that we can inform our clients to ensure consistency of service and availability”.

In addition, Pulsant worked with C4L to develop a bespoke customer solution for a new customer with specific requirements.

The customer essentially needed the bare bones infrastructure within the site. Pulsant worked to help us deliver a cost-effective solution, including migration, that would eliminate downtime for the client, and minimise the cost for us. Pulsant understands a cost-effective solution”.
